High-Performance Leaf-Spine Underlay
The foundation of our design is a robust Layer 3 routed underlay built on a Clos-based topology. Every leaf switch connects to every spine switch, creating a non-blocking fabric where all links are active. This architecture uses Equal-Cost Multipath (ECMP) routing to load balance traffic and provide predictable, low-latency performance for all east-west traffic flows. Scaling is simple and linear: add leaf switches for more server ports and spine switches for more bandwidth, without re-architecting the network.
Flexible EVPN/VXLAN Overlay
We decouple the logical network from the physical infrastructure using an EVPN/VXLAN overlay. VXLAN encapsulates Layer 2 frames into Layer 3 packets, allowing you to extend L2 segments anywhere across the data center fabric, or even between data centers. BGP EVPN serves as the modern, standards-based control plane, efficiently distributing endpoint reachability information and reducing reliance on inefficient flood-and-learn mechanisms. This enables true workload mobility, robust multi-tenancy, and simplified network management.
